Non-verbal communication (Poland|Colombia) Non-verbal communication is a form of communication, but with the use of gestures, expressions, movements. Non-verbal communication can vary according to culture and context.. For example, in Poland and Colombia there are some differences in the way of communicating nonverbally. Poles use less physical contact than Colombians, who are more tactile and affectionate. Poles also maintain more eye contact than Colombians, who may look away to show respect or modesty. Poles also respect personal space more than Colombians, who may move closer to others to show interest or trust. These differences can be seen in the greeting, conversation and negotiation that people from both countries use. To communicate well with people from other cultures, it is important to know and respect their non-verbal forms of communication.
